Condeco Workspace Occupancy Sensors have been used to collect building utilisation data for a number of years which simply shows an aggregated view of how an ‘asset’ is being used over a period of time.
The fear for Unions and HR Teams has always been that the data could be used as a time utilisation study and ultimately show when an individual staff member enters and leaves the office.
Sensor studies remove any link between a user and a desk, and typically only report whether an asset is being used in the AM and PM, or over the whole day. It does not show how long a user takes for lunch or any other sensitive data. The asset being measured could be: a desk, meeting room, kitchen area or break out space. The sensor does not differentiate space or recognise the individual who is using that space.
