Barclays identified the need to better manage workspace at their Canary Wharf Head Office. Research showed that 20% of their desk space was unused at any given time and that there were between 20% – 30% of no-shows for booked meeting rooms. This was a significant problem for Barclays with constant pressure to provide additional facilities at premium rates.

Barclays decided to introduce shared desks and better management of meeting rooms, to ensure the facilities were only allocated when staff could use them. Condeco’s feature-rich system provided the perfect solution to Barclays’ requirements. Being browser-based meant it could be rolled out to all Barclays’ main office sites across the UK in one go.

Condeco Desk Booking Software contains graphical floor plans for desk booking which allows staff to search by physical location, desk attributes or users. It provides the capability for groups of rooms to be managed by a dedicated Resource Booking Team. Additionally, it offers Meeting Room Touch Screens which highlights when facilities have become available due to ‘no shows’.



Condeco equipped each floor with an interactive kiosk in the lobby area which is integrated with the software, enabling staff to book desks on arrival.

The Condeco’s visitor management tool facilitates the processing of visitors by automatically logging their arrival at reception and preparing passes.

Finally, the application provides a range of useful MIS reports, including space utilization and cost management.
