National Assembly may make use of car park booking system

A
car park booking system may prove useful for the Welsh National Assembly in Cardiff Bay, South Wales.
Staff at the Assembly may soon find they have to pay for parking as part of new proposals after it emerged last year that parking fees for staff were costing taxpayers close to £130,000 annually.
The South Wales Echo reports The Assembly Commission detailed its plans to start charging for parking spaces in a note circulated to Assembly members, stating the increasing costs of continuing to offer free parking for everyone who travels to work by car "will be difficult to justify in the current economic climate and against internal budget pressures".
It added that at its meeting in July, it will consider proposals to charge a flat rate of £15 per month for a parking pass.
Runshaw College in Leyland may also wish to make use of a car park booking system as it intends to install one at the front of a new £3 million building.
