It revealed the yearly bill for such items can add up to £5,796 per person.
Based on an average individual net income of £18,897, this means almost one-third of a person's salary after tax is used before they can enjoy it.
The study pointed out the only people able to avoid most of these costs are the 680,000 home workers in the UK, which have doubled in number in the last 30 years.
Firms could find desk booking software allows workers to spend time between the office and home, which could boost their morale, finances and overall productivity.
